The Bush Legacy: A betrayal of the American people

THe sat there for over a half hour. It was a time for leadership. It was a time to spring to his feet and order fighter jets to be scrambled. It was a time he could have used to save thousands of lives -- instead he chose to visit with a group of school children. It was a classic case of our own Nero fiddling as Rome burned.

Now we’re supposed to believe that 9/11 was a prime example of Bush’s leadership? We’re supposed to believe that he’s our great protector that will keep us safe from some terrorist horde?

There are now more countries in the world that hate us. We have fueled the flames of terrorism and we have paid with it with the lives of over a thousand American troops.

We’ve got an economy in shambles. Millions are out of work and the jobs being created are low paying and the ones that are created barely exceed the amount of new people entering the work force. At the pace our economy is going, a pace Bush calls “robust”, it will take decades to get Americans back to work.

Does he just think we’re too stupid to see his incompetence?

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

Theodore Roosevelt

"A Democracy will vote away its rights. "

Benjamin Franklin
